Or how to dominate the world one webinar at a time.

I’m not saying that holding a webinar makes you a super villain, far from it. But the other facets of his character certainly do relate. World domination… check. Evil genius.. check (bear with me on this one), cat lover… that really is up to you.

The salient point in this rather convoluted introduction is that webinars allow you the opportunity to achieve world dominance. Or at least get you on the road to it.

Ok so the technology may have been about for the last 25 years but we’re now becoming more sophisticated in its use. Leveraging webinars and social media to reach the four corners of the globe on a shoestring budget. Beam straight onto the desktop of your target market and connect and communicate with your potential customers LIVE.. Get up close and personal(ish!) answer questions, research the market and demonstrate how transparent you are. You are a brand with nothing to hide. Beautiful (and lucrative relationships are built on trust.

Evil genius?
A webinar evens the playing field, letting the little fish swim in the big pond if you will. And it gets better… the costs really are the same no matter who you are, big or little fish.  You can always spend more but using social media and blogging your marketing costs are kept down. And, it could be an idea to employ a company to produce and market the event for you. That way you will get access to their data, expertise and platform all at a flat cost. Got to be better than doing it all yourself.

Event exhibiting can be expensive, and then you really have no guarantee of who you will reach. A webinar gives you more control. You may only be able to expect a conversion rate of up to 16% the other registrants are still your leads – for more ideas of how to market to them please take a look at my previous post.  It’s up to you to convert them to business but the fact of the matter by registering they have made their interest in you known.

So not only do webinars allow the smaller organisations give the big global leaders a run for their money there is also the rise of disintermediation to contend with.  By cutting the ‘middle man’ out of the supply chain, webinars are making the suppliers that supply your suppliers accessible to you.  They may be market leaders, done a ton of research on the ‘blue widgets’ that you buy and viola an educational valuable session is born and lucrative access to the market has been gained. Not bad, eh?

World Domination
Now this is where it gets interesting… ‘World domination’ is within your grasp. I’ve often facilitated events for clients who on receiving an attendance report or post event inbound enquiry have been really surprised. It may be an industry or geographical location that they hadn’t considered targeting before, or the cost of traditional marketing methods prevented them in reaching. Whatever the reason a whole new market has now been opened up. Make sure you capi on this is producing webinars specifically for this segment, but move quickly these leads are not hot for long!

Remember though your webinar is only as good as your content. Make it relevant, interesting, engaging, educational and valuable and you really can’t go wrong.
